Moving is the third most stressful event in a persons life!
Wednesday 14th September 2005 - NewAddress.ie, Ireland's change of address notification service is being launched today by Michael Martin T.D., Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment. House movers will now be able to tell organisations of their new address in three easy steps with NewAddress.ie - and the service is free of charge!
Recent research carried out by NewAddress.ie, found that moving house is the third most stressful event after death of a family member and divorce. Derek Quinn, Managing Director, commented "Moving house requires so many tasks that the process becomes extremely stressful for people whose lives are already pressurised with work, family and the rising prices in Ireland."
NewAddress.ie is an invaluable service for home movers, removing the stress of informing an average of 25 companies including banks, telcos, insurance companies, loyalty cards and utilities of their new address. Research undertaken in 2004 by NewAddress.ie revealed the following consumer insight: - 'On average when you move, you have to change your address details with over 25 organisations, taking anything from five to twenty five hours.'
ESB Customer Supply is the Primary Sponsor of the new service. Another 40 leading companies have also signed up with NewAddress.ie and the company aims to have the majority of Ireland's leading brands with consumer databases on board over the next 12 months. Current partners include some of Ireland's biggest brands, including Arnotts, AA Ireland, Bank of Ireland, Bord Gáis, eircom, FBD Insurance, Friends First, IIB Homeloans, Maxol, O2, Quinn Direct, Smart Telecom, Superquinn, Statoil, UTV Internet and Vodafone. Businesses that subscribe to the service will cut costs, deliver better customer service, enjoy improved customer retention and eliminate returned bills and direct mail.
Commenting on the new website, Derek Quinn, Managing Director said: "When people are moving house they have so much to organise that they often do not think of notifying a number of important people of their new address. NewAddress.ie removes the headache of spending hours phoning companies to change your address. Its fast, free and is a truly consumer friendly service.'
Such a service has already proved highly successful internationally, in the UK, US, Holland, New Zealand and Canada. In Holland 70% of people who move use a similar service. Based on the research conducted by NewAddress.ie, 76% of respondents stated that they would use the NewAddress.ie service.
Established in 2004, with the assistance of a grant from Enterprise Ireland, NewAddress.ie is a 100% Irish-owned company. The shareholders in the business include founding members, Kevin Gill, Bob Hoffman and Derek Quinn and MyHome.ie who invested €1m in February 2005
